ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

John Silver 1959 -

John Silver is a highly regarded contemporary artist working in Telford, Shropshire. He is a painter in many mediums and has been described as one of the UK's leading wildlife artists. He is also a figurative, landscape, fantasy, equestrian, sporting and portrait artist. He commenced work as a commercial artist after leaving college in 1981, and in 1995, joined the publishing company Washington Green who have released many prints from his paintings.  His work has also been used by the Danby Mint on their popular collector's plates. In 1998, the Fine Art Trade Guild UK awarded him the title of 'Best new published artist'. His work is in many collections, including those of His Royal Highness Prince Michael of Kent, and The Kennel Club UK. He is believed to be the only living artist having his work hanging in their prestigious gallery in London, alongside works by Sir Edwin Landseer, Maud Earl, Arthur Wardle and other famous artists.
