His work does not appear for sale very often. This example is from a private collection and is new to the market. A good example of his work as he painted many fishing and industrial scenes of the Tyne.

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Albert Henry Herbert (1914-1982)

Born in York but settled in North Shields with his wife where he worked as a sub- postmaster. Studied art at Manchester College of Art. He painted fishing and industrial scenes around the area of the Tyne River. In the late sixties he had his own gallery on Nile Street in North Shields. He had a number of solo exhibitions and exhibited his work at Manchester Fine Arts Academy, the Royal Scottish Academy and the Laing Art Gallery, Newcastle.
