Tom Lewsey 1910-1965
A Barque In Choppy Waters

Tom Lewsey was a well known British Marine Artist who was active between 1940 and 1965. He had a number of solo exhibitions and his work was exhibited regularly at the Royal Society of Marine Artists. An oil painting of "the Bluebottle" (the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh's yacht) was presented to the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh at the Royal Burnham Yacht Club in 1948 and an oil painting of the "Cutty Sark" was commissioned by the British (now National) Maritime Museum.

This barque in choppy waters is a fine example of his work.
