Her work is extremely competent and attractive and it is easy to see why she would have been much in demand in the emerging and vibrant advertising industry in the 1930's.

Jean Hammond (1900 - 1982)

Jean Hammond was an illustrator who trained at Epsom School of Art, and flourished in the 1930's and 1940's. She is known to have completed paintings for posters advertising the railway industry and one such work was sold on 7th May 2008 for $1250 entitled 'The Sea by Southern Railway'. Her work is extremely competent and attractive and it is easy to see why she would have been much in demand in the emerging and vibrant advertising industry in the 1930's.
