Sophie Manns
Road to Bellingham

The Northumberland National Park came into existence in 1956 and is the country’s most northern and least populated national park. The park stretches from Hadrian’s Wall to the Scottish Border. I painted this painting after driving through the national park on my way to Bellingham, on the border of the park.

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Sophie Manns

We are delighted to welcome Sophie Manns to the Wallington Gallery, a talented young artist who describes her work as follows;

I am a local artist, who recently graduated in fine art from Leeds Arts University. Inspired by the dramatic Northumberland landscapes, I strive to capture the power, awe and wonder of the countryside and coastline through painting. I am heavily influenced by JMW Turner and the Sublime. I use oil and acrylic paint to create realism/abstract contemporary landscape paintings.

Exhibitions: Fronteer Open exhibition, Sheffield, December 2021.
