South Bank Chippy

 

Born South Bank, Middlesbrough in 1944. Studied at Middlesbrough College alongside Len Tabner and David Mulholland.  He paints what he sees and feels in the Northern Art style. His subjects reflect the gritty local characters  living in the area of South Bank with its heavy industry, steel works and ship yards. In 2014 the National Football Museum in Manchester acquired Watson's "Matchday at Ayresome Park.
