Wesson painted a number of scenes featuring the Thames and various well known locations and landmarks. This is a superb painting featuring The Savoy Hotel from the South Bank. Believed to be in its original frame with original label and title verso.

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Edward Wesson RI RBA (1910 - 1983)

Born in Blackheath, London Wesson was an exceptionally talented watercolourist with a simple but very effective wash technique and his paintings are very much sought after. He was commissioned to paint posters for British Railways and the National Savings Bank.There are a number of books in publication featuring Wessons work. Wesson spent 20yrs perfecting his technique before exhibiting, then he was prolific at the RA, NS, RBA, ROI, and RI as well as provincial galleries.
