Francis Russell Flint was the son of Sir William Russell Flint. He studied at the Grosvenor School of Modern Art, Royal Academy Schools and Paris. He Exhibited at the Royal Academy, Royal Watercolour Society, Royal Society of Marine Artists, Imperial War Museum, he was an Offical War Artist during WWII. His pictures were mainly of marine subjects and were reproduced in many publications including Royal Academy Illustrated, Illustrated London News, Sketch and Tatler. He wrote for The Artist and The Studio and several books on watercolour painting.
