Hector McDonald Sutton (1903-1992)

Hector Mcdonald Sutton was a painter, draughtsman, mural artist, print-maker and teacher, born in Staffordshire he studied art at the Southport and Liverpool Schools of Art and the Royal College of Art and exhibited at various galleries including the Royal Academy and the V & A Museum. His teachers included Tom Monnington, Randolph Schwabe and A K Lawrence, whom he helped complete the Bank of England murals. Sutton was a forthrightly outspoken man of "progressive" views.
