Robert Jobling 1841 - 1923

Robert Jobling was born in Newcastle. He worked at his fathers glass works until he was sixteen whilst studying at the Newcastle School of Art at the same time. He painted marine and landscape subjects. He was the president of the Bewick Club in Newcastle. Exhibited locally and in London at the Royal Academy and the Royal Society of British Artists, Suffolk Street.
