ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Alan Bengall Charlton (1913 - 1981)

Born in North Shields Charlton studied art at Kings College, Newcastle and the Press Art School, London. He lived and worked in Northumberland and was a keen artist. He painted Northern landscape scenes including Northumberland, Cumberland and Scotland. Exhibited at the Laing Art Gallery and the Manchester City Art Gallery.
