Davison was an extremely well respected North East artist, noted for his architectural draughtmanship which is obvious in his portrayal of the buildings in this village scene.

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Frederick Charles Davison RBA (1902 - 1989)

Born in Consett, County Durham and studying art at Newcastle University Davison was a very well respected artist. A member of the RBA he exhibited widely including the Laing Art Gallery, Royal Society of British Artists, New English Art Club and the Shipley Art Gallery, Gateshead. Best known for his watercolours of English and continental scenes he was also noted for his architectural draughtmanship. A number of his watercolours were shown at the 'Contemporary Artists of Durham County' exhibition 1951 held at the Shipley Art Gallery.
