ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Robert Leslie Howey (1900 - 1981)

Robert was the son of a well known amateur artist John William Howey a Staithes Group artist. He was born in West Hartlepool and after studying at art school he became a professional artist working in Hartlepool. He exhibited his works at the Royal Scottish Academy and the Laing Art Gallery, Newcastle. He is particularly well known for his coastal and Lake District scenes.
