James Hamilton Mackenzie (1875 - 1926)
A Mountain Crag, Pana Mountains

 

Monte Pana, Italy, should be easily recognised by anyone who has visited the area in summer or to ski in winter. No doubt painted when Mackenzie was on his travelling scholarship in Italy.

Watercolour      6 1/2" x 9" (in frame 16" x 18")           signed.

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

James Hamilton Mackenzie (1875 - 1926)

Painter and etcher Mackenzie studied at the Glasgow School of art. He won a travelling scholarship to Italy. Studied at the Instituto de Belli Arti in Florence. A member of the Glasgow Art Club.  Exhibited at  Royal Scottish Academy and Glasgow Institute amongst others.
