George Fall (1848 - 1925)
Durham Cathedral

 
Born in York, George Fall was an exceptionally popular artist who painted many beautiful vignettes of York Minster, and other churches and cathedrals in the north of England. He was also a portrait painter ad exhibited his work widely, his work today is in many private collections. This is a particularly beautiful study of Durham Cathedral with his typical delicate handling in the medium of watercolour paints.

George Fall (1848 - 1925)

Born York where he was educated and studied at the local art school. A wonderful watercolourist although he is also well known for portrait oil paintings. His subjects were normally scenes around the Yorkshire and Durham areas. Examples of his work can be found at the York City Art Gallery.
