We are pleased to welcome Diana Marshall, a British artist who now resides in Ireland, to The Wallington Gallery. Her paintings are selling well in Ireland and worldwide and after viewing her work I am sure you will understand why.
Diana Marshall was born in London, England, where she studied Dress Design at Southgate and Barnet College, North London, and worked in that field in London for several years. She then spent a period travelling Europe, settling in Germany for a good many years before moving on to Southern Spain. It was here that she discovered her love of painting and studied under the well-known British artist Noel Gregory. Since then she has moved home yet again to live in County Galway, in the west of Ireland. She has found there that Irish people embrace both their art and artists, it is an ideal place to live, work and thrive. She is currently concentrating her time on still life paintings in the style of contemporary realism. Although she sometimes like to veer off course and paint a short series of paintings with other subject matter, and experimenting with other styles and subjects, she always comes back to realism and still life.
The challenge for her is to create a piece of work that pleases her, and to know that it may find a new home and give pleasure to somebody else as much as it has given her pleasure to create, that is her ultimate goal.
