This lovely oil painting by Northumbrian artist Larry Chambers shows a group of boys watching the tugs on the wear with the bridges in the background. The named tug ' Stag, Sunderland' sank whilst towing City of Manchester from the River Tyne to the River Wear.

Self-taught artist from the North East of England, was resident artist Bowes Railway Museum. His works hang in many private collections including The Pentagon, USA and Supreme Headquarters, NATO.
