James William Booth RCA (1867 - 1953)

Booth was born in Manchester where he studied art. He was a member of the Staithes Art Club and painted in both watercolour and oils and he favoured country subjects quite often showing local working scenes in the Staithes area.He exhibited widely including the Walker Gallery, Liverpool and the Royal Cambrian Academy. Examples of his work are held at the Manchester City Art Gallery amongst others.
